What are some jobs for teens?

I'm trying to find a job to bring in some extra money. I just don't know what job to get. I want to work at an animal shelter, but I'm 13 and everyone is telling me that I'm too young. So what should I do? Please help!!
Answers:
You could always mow lawn, or walk dogs, or try to ask your family for some work.
Try and get babysitting job
if you want to work with animals but cannot get a job at a shelter due to age, walk dogs, bathe dogs, brush dogs, etc. or do whatever people need done for them with their animals. this will give you experience for when you are old enough to work in a shelter. get written recommendations from those that you work for.
look around your neighborhood and put up signs for babysitting or washing cars even maybe mowing lawns
Hmm, well, for 13 year old girls, baysitting is always a good and well paying job you should do. Plus mowing lawns for other people's yard. ( including yours ) and for when you are 15 or 16, maybe start off with a easy job. Like Jamba JUice-Starbucks-McDonalds, but once you are old enough, you should work at a cafe, rock climbing place, gym or somewhere a little bit more challening for older teens.
You can start off by volunteering at a shelter or rescue. Check craigslist for people who need dog walkers or pet sitters. The Department of Labor requires you to be at least 14 to be employed, and your hours are restricted until you are 16. Other businesses set their own minimum age requirements (for example, 18 at many restaurants). You will only be able to work odd jobs until then. You should also try contacting vet's offices to see if you can do kennel work.
I work at a shelter and due to liability with the dogs we cannot have anyone under 18 working there. Also, there are volunteers but they have to be at least 16 years old...

Since you have a love for animals, I would try doing a pet sitting service in your neighborhood. When people go to work or out of town, you can let their dogs out and walk them.

Good luck!
It may sound crazy but put up posters etc and advertise that you will clean up pet poop from people's yards. Lots of people are willing to pay someone to clean their yards especially in the cities! Doesn't cost much to start off with either you just need plastic bags-like the kind you get from grocery stores, plastic gloves and a shovel or small rake-flat edged shovels work the best! Put up signs at your local pet stores too! Good Luck
Make more friends to babysit. It acually helps a lot because I babysit and I get paid good:)

Buying a property?

Buying a house is a very exciting time. The good news is that if you do the legwork and set the right wheels in motion you can be in your own house in a fairly short time. The bad news is that you can expect that there will be lots to do before you get there.
